Pool Rules

The Pool Rules are as follows:

Swimming Attire and Teaching Aids

All children under the age of 3, or those not potty trained, are required to wear two forms of protection; a disposable swim diaper and a reusable swim diaper. This is mandatory policy under the California Health and Bathing Codes.

We use fins while teaching the younger children. These enables the child to develop confidence and get a breath on their own. We also use bathtub toys to get the child’s attention and make lessons more fun. Goggles are not required although some children may prefer to wear them during their lessons. For effective lessons, bathing caps are mandatory for children with hair that can go in their eyes.

Observation Area

An observation area is provided in the office for parents who prefer to watch from a distance. We have learned that some children perform better when their parents are out of sight, but lessons may still be observed from the deck area if desired. Occasionally a parent is asked to leave the deck area so that the student may focus his/her attention on the instructor.

Playtime

Due to potential liability issues, we are no longer able to offer free playtime as a benefit associated with lessons.

Daland Swim School is open rain or shine!

Please be on time for your lesson. If you are late you are entitled only to the number of minutes remaining, not the full lesson. There are no make-ups for partial lessons missed.
