Novice Teams
Novice Team
We offer two different levels of swim teams. Each swimmer must try out so the coaches can determine the skill level.
Firm knowledge of all four strokes is required.
- Blue Team (entry level swim team). Practices are one or three times per week for 45 minutes (as student’s schedule permits).
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday ~ 3:15pm - 4pm - White Team (intermediate level swim team).
Practices are one or three times per week for 45 minutes (as student’s schedule permits). On the white team, we work on the fundamentals of stroke technique, enforce listening skills, develop endurance, and have fun while learning. Ages vary between five and nine years old. - Yellow Team (more advanced swim team)
Practices are from 1x/week up to 5x/week for 60 minutes. On the yellow team, we continue to polish the swimmers’ stroke techniques as well as starts and turns. The swimmers learn to use the pace clock and they increase their conditioning levels. In addition, we try to instill pride and commitment, while still having fun.
Competition is optional, but both levels are encouraged to participate. For most of the year we conduct a monthly novice meet at Daland Swim School, which is open to anyone. There are awards and rewards for everyone. Come by and watch the fun!
